Pump It Up!!!
Last Saturday, we headed to ATL for our nephew's 5th birthday. It was great to visit with the whole family. Zachary had the party at Pump It Up. Mason had a great time. As you can tell by the 1st 2 pics, he wasn't too sure about the big slide until he hit the bottom then he was ready to head back up. After a few times, we let him go down by himself which he loved. Needless to say, Bret was worn out by the end. The 3rd pic was after Bret took Mason in the obstacle course. After a few minutes had passed, I thought to myself..."bad idea". As you can tell, Bret and Mason finally made it out but Bret was drenched with sweat.

Random Pics and Thanksgiving 08
Bret and I got Mason a table and chair set for Christmas. The 1st pic is of Mason standing on it! We had to finally put it in the closet so he would stop. Now, it is finally wrapped and under the tree.

Mason has always loved building and stacking things. The other day he stacked 12 blocks all by himself. We couldn't believe it. I'm just surprised that I had enough time to grab the camera before he knocked it down again. He was so proud of himself.
We had a great time over Thanksgiving. We spent 2 days in Robertsdale and 2 in Brewton. It was so nice visiting family. We took Mason to a park in R'dale on Friday to get him out of the house. He loved it. He had 1 path that he kept climbing up then sliding down. We were also able to visit with Amanda, Adam and John but I didn't get a chance to snap any pics. In Brewton, all of Bret's siblings were down so it was nice to hang out with the whole family. We headed to Andalusia to his grandmother's house on Saturday. The time flew by like always but we can't wait to head back down for Christmas.

Weekend in R'dale...blogging a little late!
Last weekend we headed down to my parents' house. Bret had a residency interview in Mobile that Friday so we were able to take advantage of the trip and spend the weekend with family. We had a great time. The interview went very well. On Friday, Mason and I were by ourselves b/c Bret was at the interview and Mom and Dad both had to work. We visited with Aunt Mertis then all 3 of us headed over to the Daphne Library to meet mom for lunch. Mason had so much fun in the Children's room at the library that we actually took him back over there on Saturday morning. Also on Saturday I met Amanda, Emily and Holly and their kids for lunch and shopping in Foley then that night my parents and Bret, Mason, and myself went to Mamma Mia in Daphne. Mason did great and we had such a wonderful time. Then, Sunday we went to church, lunch then packed up and headed back up the road. While we were packing, mom and dad took Mason outside and he had a ball picking satsumas. Sadly, I didn't take any pics until the last day so that's the only ones I have to share.

Mason is going to have a little baby............
BROTHER!!! We just had my 19 week appointment this morning. It's a boy! We are so excited that they can play together. All the measurements looked great. They did test my blood and thyroid levels b/c I've been extremely tired lately. Also, I'm already having braxton-hicks contractions so she wants me to monitor that as well. Now, all we have to do is come up with a name. We had some girl names from the first pregnancy but not many boy names.

Halloween Catch Up!
I know I am a few weeks late but we've been so busy with work and traveling for interviews. But, I thought I would still post a few pics from Halloween. Bret and I were actually out of town for the Emory interview in ATL on Halloween so these pics were taken a few days earlier. We were able to take Mason to 1 Halloween festival the week before then Bret's parents took him to one on Halloween night. He definitely enjoyed everything more this year. He loves the pumpkin behind him that he picked out. Every night that we come home, he has to stop and say "pumpum" and touch it! The AU outfit was from something at day care. We had to dress him up in his team's colors.

Relaxing Weekend!
This weekend we relaxed and enjoyed the awesome weather. Saturday morning we had our usual breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Then, we headed out to go buy Bret's birthday gift. Since we won't be here this weekend, I wanted him to have it before his birthday. He got a pair of Costa's so it was something he had to pick out himself. Then, we headed to Old Navy and bought Mason some clothes. That afternoon we headed over to Holly & Clint's house to watch football with friends. Amanda & Adam were up in B'ham so it was great to see them.
There were about 10 adults and 5 babies!!! As you can see, it's interesting trying to get them to smile/look at the camera all at the same time. We had a great time though.
Sunday afternoon we headed to the park and let Mason play for about an hour. Then, we spent the rest of the night cleaning up! It was much more relaxing than the weekend before! :)

Pumpkin Patch, Dog Fight, and 105 Fever!
Sorry this is such a long post but we've been busy this weekend! So, this weekend has been crazy to say the least. On Friday, Bret and I decided that we were going to take Mason to the pumpkin patch in Hayden and to the Zoo this weekend. That afternoon day care called and said he was running a low fever of 100. We kept Advil and Tylenol in him and that kept his fever down. We were guessing it was just a fever virus since he had no other symptoms and his ears were clear. We decided to not attempt the Zoo but did go to the Pumpkin Patch Saturday afternoon. Mason had a great time. We did the petting zoo and rode the wagon to the patch to pick out a pumpkin.

Sunday morning, he woke up with a fever so we laid low. Then, he started to feel better so we were going to try the Zoo. We all needed some fresh air. As I was putting on my make up, I heard Bret say "Mason, don't step on Streak" and before Bret could get over to him, Mason had fallen on Streak and he snapped back at Mason. That is one of the scariest feelings when your child just got bitten by a dog. Luckily, the wound wasn't deep but it was really close to his eye. So, instead of heading to the Zoo we spent the next few hours at Children's ER after our nurse advised us to go in case he needed stitches. 2 hours and $100 later we left after the doctor said he didn't need stitches and Bret had cleaned it out good enough that they didn't need to again. He gave us a script for antibiotics to prevent infection. Needless to say, Streak is now going to live with Nana and Papa and Jazz (1 of our Jack Russells that doesn't handle Mason well) is going to stay with Aunt Erin - a very easy decision to make when you look at your child and his eye looks like someone hit it!
So, you would think after that, we could settle down....not really. At around 10:30 pm Bret went in to Mason's room to give him a dose of Tylenol and he was burning up. His fever read 105.5 on 1 thermometer and 104.5 on another. At that point, we went into "scared mode". He's done this once before when he had roseola so we knew the drill - we couldn't give him any more medicine but we knew we had to get the fever down or go to the ER. We put him in a bath (which is miserable) then kept cool clothes on him and water in him. Luckily, we were able to get the fever down to around 102. He slept the rest of the night but kept a high fever until this morning when it broke. We checked on him all night just to make sure it hadn't gotten that high again. So, Mason and I just got back from the doctor. His 18 mo. appointment was scheduled for today at 3:45 but luckily they saw us 1st thing. Dr. Walley said the eye was fine - that the swelling is normal and just to keep cleaning it. They drew blood and gave him a flu test. Luckily the flu test came back negative so it's just a virus. Since he didn't have a fever at the doctor or the flu, they went ahead and gave him is HiB and OPV shots along with the flu vaccine. So, now we are finally home and watching Bear in the Big Blue House. You would think that would be it but Bret called me from T-town and said he was heading home b/c he had body aches and chills. So, he's in bed right now and trying to get some Tamiflu called in. Let's just pray that Mason or I do not get the flu if that's what he has.
