Busy Weekend
This weekend was busy but a blast. We went shopping Saturday morning and bought a suit for Bret for his interviews and a dress for my 10 year reunion in 2 weeks. Then, we ate lunch at one of our favorite places - Zoe's. After that, we headed home for Mason's nap and to watch AU football. War Eagle! Then, we had to get ready for a friend's birthday party that night. Kyle and McLean were sweet enough to watch Mason while we were at the party. When we got home, we put Mason to bed...with me shortly behind him while Bret finished watching the UGA/UA game. So, needless to say by Sunday I was worn out. I actually took a 2 hour nap - and I never nap. Mason slept almost 3 hours for his nap (which he hardly ever does). That afternoon, we headed back out to the Splash Pad and had a great time. Mason did a lot better this time and even ran through the water. Then we played at the park for a little while. The heat was making me sick so we headed back home. My cousin and his family are coming to visit today so we spent the rest of the day and night cleaning. Sorry I have no pictures - I left my camera at home!

Splash Pad - 1st Time!!!
This past Sunday, we took Mason to the new Splash Pad in Gardendale that just opened. We had a blast. Mason never really warmed up to it but I was able to get a few pictures that makes him look like he was having fun. He would act like he wanted to play but then when the water hit him, he'd run back to the grass. We hung out there for about an hour then went to the park (in the background of this pic) after that. He loves the park - mainly the slides. This picture shows a piano that plays music when you step on the keys.
This was Mason's favorite splash pad toy. It was because he had more control over how much water touched him. Oh - I just realized that you can double click on the pics and they will appear larger in a new screen. I'm sure everyone else knew this but I thought it was cool. So, if the pics are too small, just double click! I meant to set them larger but can't go back and change them from work.
This is just a picture of part of the Splash Pad. I added this one for all my friends up in B'ham in case they are looking for a place to take their kids. I think it will only be open for another month but will re-open next Spring. So far, it's the nicest one I've seen b/c it has so many different water toys and even if there are a ton of kids, you can find space. We are going back this weekend so feel free to join us!

Baby Henderson Update: Week 11
I had my 11 week appointment yesterday. They did another ultrasound to make sure they could get a heart beat. Everything looked great. It's amazing how fast the baby changed from the 6 1/2 week visit. He/she actually looks like a baby now and not a bean! :) The heartbeat was 167 but was around 130 the first visit. They say a higher heartbeat is a girl but Mason's was high at first too. We will see!!! We are just praying for a healthy baby. I'm starting to feel better even though I was sick yesterday morning. At one point, Bret even walked in a said "I'm sorry I've done this to you". He's crazy...exactly what I wanted to hear at that moment! :) He's been awesome though. I'm so glad he's back. I have basically been laying on the couch doing nothing at night while Bret chases Mason around. Mason is now glued to him. It's so cute. He follows Bret around everywhere and wants to help with whatever he's doing.

Trip to Brewton
This past weekend Mason and I headed back down the road to Brewton to visit with Bret and his family. We had a great time. Saturday morning Bret, Mason, myself & Bret's parents went to a beautiful pond at the junior college in Brewton - JDCC.
Mason had a blast trying to feed the ducks but quickly moved on to just eating the snacks himself. As we were leaving, he fell and had a huge bump on his head. The only thing that calmed him down was a milkshake that his Papa gave him.
That afternoon, we went to Emma Grayce's 2nd birthday Luau party. Emma Grayce is the daughter of my dear friends, Leah & Dennis. The party was great - Leah outdid herself again. She's so creative! After that, we had a cookout at Bret's parents' house and most of the family was there. It was such a great weekend to spend with family and friends. That Sunday, we went to church then out to lunch. As I was talking on the phone with my mom, she suggested that Mason go to Robertsdale with Bret. She had the beginning of the week off and wanted to watch him. After Bret talked me into it, I headed back up to B'ham by myself. This is the longest I have been away from Mason but was in desperate need of rest. Bret has been out of town the last 3 weeks and only home late at night the rotation before that. So, needless to say, I am catching up on rest but definitely ready to have both my boys back home!!!
Fork Time!
I just had to share some pics of Mason learning how to use a fork. I have had it in the drawer forever but always forget about it. I guess I just assume he'll use his hands. I showed him how to do it a f
ew times, then he had it. He loved figuring it out. He even was trying to pick up corn with it that night at dinner. I love watching him learn things for the 1st time.

Trip To Robertsdale
Last weekend, Mason and I headed home to spend time with Bret and my parents. For people that don't know, Bret is doing a visiting rotation at USA in Mobile for a month. We are in week 3 and I am so ready for him to be home. We had a great time down south. I was nervous driving down by myself with Mason but spent the earlier part of the week getting as prepared as I could. I had a bag full of toys and snacks, a Bear video, and books on CD for me. We were ready and did great until the last 15 minutes. As I was hanging up the phone after telling Bret that we'd be home in a few minutes and how well the trip went, I looked back and Mason was throwing up EVERYWHERE. He had gotten choked on a cheerio and that was it. Luckily, I was off the interstate and pulled into a gas station in Loxley. Somehow I had to clean Mason up, change his clothes, clean his car seat, and keep GiGi from jumping out the door and at the same time, try to calm Mason down. As we got back on the road, I called Bret and told him we would now be 15 more minutes and to start the bath! Besides the crazy trip, the rest of the weekend was great.
Saturday we watched the Auburn game with some dear friends - Amanda, Adam, and John. War Eagle! As in his usual style, Mason was shy at first but by the end of the game, he was playing and even jumping on the trampoline with Bret & Adam. John was great the whole time. We just enjoyed just spending time with family, eating out, and relaxing. This weekend I'm headed to Brewton so pray that this drive will go better.

New to Blogging!!!
So, after saying I would never blog, here I am creating one! Many of my friends have their own and I love reading theirs. I never saw a need before but now that Mason is in our lives, it is a great way to keep everyone updated on him. I'm hoping our families will check in often as I think this is the easiest way to keep them posted on our daily adventures!
